This neighbourhood has a dynamic population, and is popular with highly educated people, people in their 20s, people in their 30s, people in their 40s, and people in their 50s. Toronto's harbour has been used since the founding of Toronto for shipping and industrial purposes. It is a waterfront community rich in heritage buildings, including the Canada Malting Silos site, the Crosse and Blackwell building at the southeast corner of Lake Shore Boulevard West and Bathurst Street, and the Tip Top Tailor building on the southwest corner of Lake Shore Boulevard West and Stadium Road. Comprising the only group of islands in the western part of Lake Ontario, the Toronto Islands are located just offshore from the city centre, and provide shelter for Toronto Harbour. This neighbourhood contains the condo-dense area known as Cityplace in addition to parts of the Fashion District and Corktown.
